Ratnesh is the Executive Director of UN Global Compact Network India- the Indian Local Network of the United Nations Global Compact. In this role, he stewards the Ten Principles including the Compact's Anti-Corruption Principle, across India's largest multi-stakeholder platform for responsible business, working with the country's leading corporates, public institutions, and civil society organizations.

His perspective on governance is grounded in decades of work inside the machinery of public accountability itself. Ratnesh has more than three decades of experience at the national, state, and district level designing, financing, implementing, and evaluating development interventions in some of India's most challenging governance environments. He has provided technical assistance directly to India's Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, the Ministry of Rural Development, and NITI Aayog, giving him a close, practitioner's view of how integrity and accountability function inside large public systems.

Before joining UNGCNI, he served as a Senior Fellow at the National Institute of Public Finance and Policy, India's foremost think tank on public finance and fiscal governance. Earlier, at UNDP, he held roles as Management Specialist and Programme Analyst, shaping country programme strategy across Inclusive Growth, Energy and Environment.

He holds a Master's in Development Finance from the University of Manchester, Master's degrees (M.A. and M.Phil) in Sociology from the University of Delhi, and a graduate degree in Economics and Mathematics from Delhi University.
