Surath oversees all Finance functions of MAS, as the Group Finance Director of MAS Holdings. He also serves as a Board Member of the MAS Apparel Board and the MAS Innovation Board. Surath has led the transformation of the finance function through business partnering, digitization, risk management and sustainable finance. He was recently awarded the CFO of the year award at the CIMA-JXG Pinnacle Awards 2025 in recognition of exceptional leadership shown during a time marked by volatility, economic disruption, and shifting industry paradigms
Prior to the current role, Surath served as Director Corporate Finance, Strategy, Treasury and Tax at MAS Capital (Pvt) Ltd. during which played a pivotal role in multiple investments, restructures, and divestments. He was also instrumental in strengthening the treasury and tax functions of the enterprise. Surath also served as Director Finance, Strategy, Information Technology and Sustainability at Bodyline where he successfully led the turnaround effort. He also held several positions at MAS Intimates including the position of Financial Controller.
Surath is also an advocate for sustainability and the MAS plan for change 2030. He overseas investments in sustainability both within the organization and external partnerships & technologies. He also spearheaded sustainable finance allowing MAS to raise significant funding. Under his leadership, MAS was also selected to represent apparel manufacturers in the formation of a Fashion climate fund of the Apparel Impact.
Surath holds an MBA in International Business from the University of London and a Bachelor of Business Management Degree (specializing in Finance) with a distinction from the University of Bangalore. He is an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) and a Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA), who has also received recognition at the global financial management awards for his academic achievements.
Surath has received his executive education from the Wharton Business School (University of Pennsylvania), the Darden Business School (University of Virginia), Center for Creative Leadership and Doug Adams leadership program.
