Rusiri Cooray has over 25 years of experience in finance and treasury management. She is a Fellow Member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (FCMA, CGMA – UK), a Passed Finalist of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka, a Fellow Member of the Certified Management Accountants of Sri Lanka (FCMA), and holds an MBA in Finance with Distinction and Gold Medal honors from Cardiff Metropolitan University, UK.
She is currently the Chief Financial Officer of WindForce PLC, a position she has held since May 2021. WindForce, established in 2010 and listed on the Colombo Stock Exchange, is Sri Lanka’s largest independent renewable energy producer with a market cap of Rs. 61 billion. The company operates through 31 project companies locally and globally, with 253 MW of installed capacity and 300 MW under construction across Sri Lanka, Uganda, Pakistan, and Ukraine. WindForce is also developing Sri Lanka’s first utility‑scale Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) with a capacity of 130 MW / 520 MWh to enhance grid stability and renewable integration. In 2026, the company secured a USD 18 million funding facility from the International Finance Corporation (IFC), supporting its expansion and sustainability initiatives.
In addition to renewable energy, WindForce has diversified into the electric automobile sector, contributing to sustainable mobility solutions. Prior to her current role, Rusiri worked for over two decades in the export and manufacturing sectors, focusing on financial structuring, capital management, and operational efficiency.
