Md. Atiqul Islam (APU) is the Head of Compliance and Sustainability at Fakir Fashion Ltd., a leading Ready-Made Garment (RMG) manufacturer in Bangladesh, where he architects the organization's sustainability vision—driving climate action, environmental stewardship, and responsible governance across the value chain. With over 16 years of experience in the RMG sector and multinational environments, he is recognized as a dedicated sustainability practitioner committed to embedding measurable, credible impact into business strategy.
His work is deeply anchored in global sustainability frameworks, with active engagement across SBTi (Science Based Targets initiative), GRI Standards, Cascale, Higg FEM, SLCP and MCAP—enabling data-driven progress on emissions reduction, resource efficiency, supply chain transparency and social accountability. He is a Certified HR Business Partner (ChRBP), Lead Auditor- ISO 9001:2015, SA8000 Auditor, and Senior Master Trainer in Environment, Occupational Safety & Health (EOSH) certified by the ILO.
