Sanghyun Lee is a Program Manager at the United Nations Global Compact Network Korea. She joined UNGC amid the COVID-19 pandemic, at a moment when ESG was just beginning to take root within Korean companies, and has since closely monitored the institutionalization of global ESG disclosure standards, such as ISSB and the EU's ESRS, while helping local companies align with and prepare for these evolving requirements. She introduced key UNGC initiatives, including Forward Faster and the CFO Coalition for the SDGs, to Korea, inspiring companies toward greater ambition and faster action on sustainability. She also researches emerging cross-sector issues such as Just Transition and Responsible AI, providing practical guidance to Korean businesses navigating these new frontiers. She now focuses on the Governance pillar of ESG, leading practitioner and leadership programs and fostering peer learning and networking across Korea's sustainability ecosystem.

Prior to joining UNGC Network Korea, she worked in corporate planning at a major Korean retail conglomerate, and at a private research institute, where she conducted social impact research and evaluation. She holds a Master's degree in Economics, with a focus on Public Policy and Economic Development, from Yonsei University Graduate School of Economics, and a Bachelor's degree in Economics and French Language & Literature from Korea University.
