Nirnita Talukdar is the Asia Pacific Lead for UNEP FI (United Nations Environment Programme Finance Initiative), where she is responsible for advancing UNEP FI's regional strategy to mobilize sustainable finance across Asia-Pacific. In this role, she provides strategic guidance to financial institutions on aligning their business strategies with the Paris Agreement, the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and other global sustainability frameworks, while supporting their implementation within national and regional contexts. She also works closely with financial sector stakeholders to strengthen the enabling environment for sustainable finance across the region.

With over 15 years of experience, Nirnita is a sustainable finance specialist with expertise in financial sector accountability and responsible banking. Her previous work has focused on the role of capital markets in supporting climate transitions and advancing sustainable finance policy and practice across Asia-Pacific.

Nirnita has led research initiatives and co-authored publications on topics including Asian cross-border financial flows, the health and safety of migrant workers, and non-financial disclosure policies.
