Mr Hasrath Munasinghe currently functions as the Executive Director/Chief Operating Officer of the Commercial Bank of Ceylon PLC. Prior to this appointment, he functioned as the Deputy General Manager - Corporate Banking and earlier as Deputy General Manager - Retail Banking and Marketing, where he oversaw the Cards business, Remittances, Digital Banking, Retail Banking, Marketing, Customer Experience, Sustainability, CSR and Women Banking verticals of the Bank. He counts over 3 decades of professional experience, including 20 years at Corporate Management / C-suite level, spanning Media, Advertising, Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG), Telecommunications and Banking.

In addition, he served as a Board Director of CBC Finance PLC, a fully owned subsidiary of the Commercial Bank of Ceylon PLC, and currently serves as a Board Director of Commercial Bank of Maldives and Trustee of the Commercial Bank CSR Trust.

He is possess 15 professional and academic qualifications including MSc from University of Moratuwa and a MBA from University of Southern Queensland Australia.

He is a Board Director of the United Nations Global Compact Network - Sri Lanka and a Member of the Sri Lanka Institute of Directors (SLID). He previously served as a Council Member of the Association of Professional Bankers of Sri Lanka, a Board Director of the Sri Lanka Business and Biodiversity Platform of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce, and as a Board Member of the International Advertising Association -Sri Lanka and the Chartered Institute of Marketing -Sri Lanka chapter."

He has participated in multiple international forums as a Speaker, Moderator and Panelist in over 10 countries spanning across Asia pacific and USA.
