Prajakta Chitre is a Senior Infrastructure Finance Specialist at the World Bank and the country focal point for the energy sector in Sri Lanka. She brings more than 15 years of global experience in infrastructure finance and public-private partnerships, with a focus on mobilizing private capital for sustainable infrastructure.

At the World Bank, Prajakta works at the intersection of policy, finance, and investment, advising governments on sector reforms and financial sustainability while developing financing and risk-mitigation solutions that help unlock private sector participation. Her work spans South Asia, Sub-Saharan Africa, East Asia, and Europe, with a particular focus on creating the enabling conditions for commercially viable and sustainable investment in critical infrastructure.

Prajakta holds a B.S. in Business Administration from Georgetown University and an MBA from George Washington University.
